Behind the perfect face of Baek Ah-jin (Kim Yoo-jung), adored star of the small screen, lies a woman forever marked by a chaotic childhood. Confronted with violence from an early age, she learned to survive by hiding her emotions and using her ability to read others as a weapon. Gentle on the surface, formidable when necessary, she has risen to the top through total mastery of her emotions... and her image.
By her side all her life, Yoon Joon-seo (KIm Young-dae) has always protected, supported and loved her. He is her only refuge, her anchor. But his unconditional love could well be the catalyst for her downfall.
Another man also haunts Ah Jin's universe: Kim Jae-oh (KIm Do-hoon). He too grew up in pain, broken by an abusive father. It's with her that he finds a reason to keep going, even if it means stepping aside to remain in her shadow.
And as if this already fragile balance wasn't enough, a rival enters the scene: Re-Na, a former idol turned successful actress, whose heart beats for Yoon Joon Seo.

I LOVED IT! π€©
The atmosphere, the music are crazy, the story (even if the scenario is much criticized by its Β«absenceΒ») and the actors' performance! I already knew Kim Yoo jung, she can play anything, it's crazy, so convincing as a psychopath!
And I was delighted to discover Kim Do hoon and especially Kim Young dae, an actor I absolutely adore. They are magnetic with Kim Yoo jung π₯
I was totally taken in by the story and, above all, the very dark atmosphere. She's cruel, and even though her behavior is learned rather than innate, it's difficult, if not impossible, to empathize with her. Her character made some people stop the series, but personally she motivated me to continue, so charismatic and complex is she. Most of all, we're heartbroken for the others.
Without spoilers, I liked the ending because it was logical in terms of the character's continuity.
But really big highlights: the beauty of the direction, the performance of the actors and the OST that I listen to almost every day.
Despite Kim yoo jung's stunning acting, the drama struggles to come up with a coherent story. It's watchable but not exceptional.
