The series tells the story of a child who, from the moment of his birth, was destined to bring about the destruction of a family, and of a woman who tries to fight against society’s prejudices and a cruel fate in order to regain control of her life.
A love story that tears two families apart
The teaser opens with Na Se-ri, played by Han Go-eun, wearing an evening gown as she plays the cello, tears streaming down her face. Behind this elegant image lies a series of tragic events that have deeply affected several generations.
The relationship between Na Se-ri and Cha Min-ki, played by Jeon No-min, appears to be the catalyst for this family drama. Their decisions have left deep wounds in the family’s children. Cha Seung-woo, Cha Min-ki’s second son, expresses his anger:
«I've never even been able to play a single soccer game like everyone else. What was so great about having a father, anyway?»
His older brother, Cha Seung-hyun, also accuses Na Se-ri and her mother: «The father my little brother was waiting for, the husband our mother lost—you and your mother took him away from us.»
These words illustrate the suffering that has built up over the years and the consequences of a relationship that has disrupted the family’s balance.
