«Lucky Seoul» will follow the story of the youngest manager of a jjokbang village, a neighborhood consisting of tiny, low-cost housing units often occupied by people in precarious circumstances.
After the disappearance of a landlord accused of orchestrating a massive rental scam, the main character decides to set out to find him and hold him accountable for his actions.
Billed as a story of revenge, the drama will also bring together childhood friends who join forces to uncover the truth. Through this plot, Lucky Seoul It will also address the contradictions and sometimes brutal consequences of modern capitalist society.
Jung Hae-in in a more calculating role
Jung Hae-in has reportedly been offered the role of Kwon Ian, a man who starts out as the youngest manager of a village jjokbang before becoming a real estate agent specializing in luxury residences for VIP clients.
Unlike some of his previous, more warm-hearted characters, Kwon Ian is described as strategic, ambitious, and particularly perceptive about the world around him.
Convinced that every relationship is based on the principle of exchange, he measures his own worth by his financial success. For him, money is both a source of pride and a symbol of everything he has accomplished.
The filming of Lucky Seoul is expected to begin in early 2027.
