Adapted from a webtoon, «New Neighborhood» explores a topic rarely seen in Korean dramas: elderly villagers who clear a remote plot of land deep in the mountains to build a small community and live together in a new village.

A story that hints at a warm and human series, focused on solidarity across generations rather than power struggles or traditional romances.

Kim Myung-min has received an offer to play the lead role in «New Neighborhood» (working title), director Lee Myung-woo’s new project. The role had initially been offered to Han Suk-kyu, who has since withdrawn from the project. His agency confirms that he is considering the offer.

This role had initially been offered to Han Suk-kyu, best known for the medical drama series «Dr. Romantic.» However, the actor has reportedly since withdrawn from the project. No reason has been given for his departure.

Behind the camera, Lee Myung-woo has already had several hits. He is the director of «The Fiery Priest,» which ranks among the highest-rated shows in the history of SBS’s Friday-Saturday dramas, as well as «Boyhood» and «Doctor Slump.».

A director who is equally at home with comedy and drama—which makes him the perfect fit for a project like this.

The network, streaming platform, and release schedule for «New Neighborhood» have not yet been announced.
