The Story
Based on the webtoon of the same name, «The Ordinary Jackpot» will offer a rather different take on the traditional fantasy of the lottery winner.
Lee Jun-hyuk plays Gong Eun-tae, head of Sales Team 5 at Hongsung International. An ordinary employee accustomed to the daily grind of corporate life, his luck suddenly takes a turn for the better when he wins the lottery jackpot. His winnings total 1.3 billion won, or approximately 900,000 euros.

It was a considerable sum, to be sure, but not enough to allow him to completely transform his life and disappear overnight. And contrary to what one might imagine, Gong Eun-tae did not decide to walk out on his company. He simply went back to work… the very next day.

The same job, but a whole new way of experiencing it
Even if his work environment remains the same, Gong Eun-tae no longer sees things the same way. His windfall will gradually change his relationship with his work, his colleagues, and his own life. Rather than focusing on how the money materially changes his daily life, «The Ordinary Jackpot» explores how this experience will push a perfectly ordinary man to transform himself.

An idea that should allow the drama to explore office life with humor and realism, but also this question: What would we actually change in our daily lives if we suddenly no longer had exactly the same financial concerns?
Seo Hyun-woo, a frustrated coworker who is more loyal than he seems
Seo Hyun-woo plays the role of Yang Joon-ho, assistant manager of Sales Team 5. Although competent, he’s had little luck when it comes to getting a promotion, and he’s particularly upset about one situation: Gong Eun-tae joined the company after he did, but still managed to become team leader before him.
The new images immediately convey this frustration. Joon-ho appears with his legs crossed and a stern expression, clearly showing his displeasure.
Seo Hyun-woo describes his character as a man who is worn out from holding the same position for too long and who is constantly looking for an opportunity to be promoted. He thus harbors a significant inferiority complex toward Eun-tae, younger than him but now his superior.
Yet Joon-ho isn’t just a jealous coworker out to cause trouble. He’s very sociable and well-liked by both his superiors and subordinates (with the notable exception of his team leader), and he secretly wants his team to succeed. And when he finally places his trust in someone, he can become particularly passionate and loyal.

Oh Dae-hwan Faces the Limits of Hard Work
The character of Jung Sun-hyuk (Oh Dae-hwan) will provide a different perspective on corporate life.
As the head of Sales Team 4, he initially comes across as a reassuring colleague to Eun-tae. On a rooftop, he gives him a warm smile and seems to offer him some comfort as Eun-tae is under pressure from all sides.
But a second image shows a radically different man. Surrounded by cigarette smoke, Sun-hyuk appears alone and preoccupied. After devoting much of his life to his business, he must now face a much less encouraging reality: Working hard does not necessarily guarantee the desired results.
Oh Dae-hwan, incidentally, refuses to reduce his character to a «good» or «bad» man. Sun-hyuk has his own ambitions, pride, and responsibilities, yet he is still capable of doubt and wavering when confronted with the realities of his professional life and his role as head of the family.

Two new employees who still have to prove themselves
Between these two frames are Park Ki-tae and Lee Ji-hye, two young employees with very different concerns.
Park Ki-tae dreams of having coworkers as exceptional as a «lottery jackpot.» Ambitious and enthusiastic, he wants to succeed at everything he sets out to do, even though his lack of experience may still work against him.
Her smile and energy should, however, bring a lighter touch to Team 5.
Lee Ji-hye, on the other hand, finds herself in a more precarious situation. She is a contract employee and hopes to land a permanent position, and his seriousness is therefore much more than just a personality trait.

Lee Hyun-kyun plays the role of Jang Kyung-chul, deputy general manager of the sales department and supervisor of Gong Eun-tae and Jung Seon-hyuk (Oh Dae-hwan). The new footage shows him giving instructions with a particularly authoritative look.
Park Bo-kyung Park Hyun-sook, the head of the sales department, will play her part. Unlike those who focus solely on immediate results, she is described as a leader capable of taking a step back and looking at the organization as a whole.
Another character who is likely to play an important role in Eun-tae's daily life: Jin Hae-joo, head of the legal team played by Ok Ja-yeon. Highly competent and fully aware of what’s going on internally, she is also Eun-tae’s drinking buddy. This close relationship allows her to offer him advice that is sometimes stern, sometimes much warmer.
However, it is Jang Hyang-eun, played by Baek Yae-in, who could add a bit more mystery to the office. After working at the Chinese branch of Hongseong International, she returns to Korea and joins Gong Eun-tae’s Sales Team 5. Her skills have earned her a reputation as a true «ace,» but several rumors also seem to follow her. The first images deliberately maintain the mystery surrounding this new colleague and her past.
