Biography

Seo Hyun-woo (Seo Hyun-woo) is a South Korean actor born on November 20, 1983. A graduate of the Department of Theater at the Korea National University of Arts, he made his professional stage debut in 2010, notably in the musical Kiss Me, Kate. That same year, he received an acting award at the Off Daehakro Festival, marking the beginning of a career that has long been divided between theater, independent film, and supporting roles on screen.

After several difficult years during which he went from one audition to another and appeared in small-scale productions, he gradually began to make a name for himself in films such as A Hard Day (2014), Fatal Intuition (2015), To a Taxi Driver and 1987: When the Day Comes (2017), then Believer and After My Death (2018).

His popularity among the general public surged in 2020 thanks to Flower of Evil. In it, he plays Kim Moo-jin, a journalist connected to the past of the character played by Lee Joon-gi. This is his first leading role in a TV series. That same year, he appeared in The Man Standing Next, in which he plays Jeon Du-hyeok.

In 2022, Seo Hyun-woo stars in Decision to Leave by Park Chan-wook. His portrayal of Sa Cheol-seong earned him the New Actor Award at the Director’s Cut Awards. He also stars in the independent film Thunderbird and joins the series Behind Every Star in the role of Officer Kim Jung-don.

In 2024, he will star in three major series: A Shop for Killers, in which he plays the formidable marksman Lee Seong-jo, Uncle Samsik and the crime comedy Seoul Busters.
