What a Boss Wants

«What a Boss Wants» will follow Kwon Do-hyuk, a chaebol heir who heads an entertainment company and is a true genius in the field of artificial intelligence.

A cold-hearted boss who is unable to trust others

Despite a life that seems perfect, he has one distinctive trait: He is unable to taste flavors. His daily life is about to be turned upside down, however, when he decides to track down a mysterious woman whose voice he heard on an album.

This voice belongs to Lee Eun-chae, the lead singer of an indie band, who will gradually become the only unpredictable factor in Kwon Do-hyuk’s perfectly controlled life.

Sung Hoon will therefore portray this man who is as brilliant as he is cold on the surface, but who hides a deep loneliness behind his self-assurance.

Sung Hoon returns to television as a particularly demanding CEO

Kwon Do-hyuk is the only son of a family ranked among the 1 % wealthiest chaebols. Handsome, talented, and exceptionally intelligent, he runs OYes Entertainment and is considered a genius in the field of artificial intelligence.

His personality, however, is far from warm. Guided above all by reason and logic, Do-hyuk comes across as so cold that the production team describes him as being «even more AI than the AI he creates.» His tastes are just as distinct.

The CEO swears by classical music and, on the other hand, hates songs with vocals. This detail obviously takes on special significance, since the woman destined to turn his life upside down is, as it happens, a singer.

The production team explained, «Sung Hoon is an actor capable of portraying every facet of Kwon Do-hyuk, from his flawless appearance and cool charisma to the loneliness he hides.»

Oh Se-young will lead a double life

By day, Lee Eun-chae is a young woman facing the challenges of the job market and desperately trying to land a job.

At night, she becomes Su, the lead singer of an indie band who reveals a much brighter side of herself on stage. Her daily life is turned upside down when she meets Kwon Do-hyuk, a man she considers to be «even more like an AI than an AI itself.».

Just as they begin to grow closer, however, Eun-chae chooses to hide his true identity from him, setting the stage for one of the key elements of their future romance.

Lee Jung-shin will bring a fresh energy to the story in the role of Moon Tae-kyung, a warm and easygoing pediatrician. Beloved by those around him, his character will stand in stark contrast to Do-hyuk’s coldness.

Lee Jung-shin becomes a doctor who puts others before himself

Lee Jung-shin will play Moon Tae-kyung, a pediatrician with a cheerful and approachable personality who easily puts others at ease. The new photos show him wearing his white coat, with a smile that immediately reflects his kind nature.

But the character won’t be limited to his professional setting. Other photos show Lee Jung-shin in much more casual outfits, ranging from a denim jacket to a leather jacket. His slightly tousled hair and endearing gaze also accentuate the charm that the production team describes as “puppy-like.”.

Behind his charming appearance, Tae-kyung is portrayed above all as a caring man who places great importance on the people around him.

Park Jung-hak, Jo Hee-bong, Lee Do-yeop, Kim Yun-kyung, and Lee Choong-joo round out the cast.

The drama will be directed by Kang Sol, known for «Delivery Man» and «My Lovely Journey,» while the screenplay will be written by Nam Ji-yeon, who notably wrote «Bitter Sweet Hell.».

The network has not yet been announced, but the production team hopes to begin filming the series before the end of the year.
