Lee Joon-gi and Sakaguchi Kentaro will have to push their limits to save the ones they love in « kiDnap GAME ». The new thriller has just confirmed its premiere date for October 6 and is introducing its two main characters through a series of particularly dark new posters.
The series will revolve around a kidnapping case of unprecedented scale that erupts simultaneously in 7 Asian cities: Seoul, Tokyo, Taipei, Singapore, Bangkok, Naha, and Manila. Seven people find themselves caught up in a survival game, and each is given a different mission. To stay alive and save their loved ones, they must complete their objective before the others do.
A competition whose rules seem to be summed up by the question printed on the new posters: «How far are you willing to go to save the person you love? Only one can be saved.»

Lee Joon-gi Forced to Make Unimaginable Choices
Lee Joon-gi embodies Han Ki-joo, a brilliant surgeon whose life is turned upside down when his visually impaired daughter is kidnapped.
Having spent his career saving lives, the doctor suddenly finds himself faced with a radically different dilemma: How far is he willing to go to protect his own child?
To find his daughter, Han Ki-joo will be forced to consider choices he never imagined he would have to make. This situation will gradually shake the principles he has always held dear.

Opposite him, Kentaro Sakaguchi plays Toshiro Niide, a Japanese detective determined to uncover the truth behind this massive case. With a deep sense of justice and the ability to keep his cool, Toshiro also throws himself into the thick of things for a deeply personal reason: save his wife.
But like Han Ki-joo, events will eventually cause him to question his convictions.

Allies or enemies?
The new posters show the two men heading in different directions, each displaying the same determination. This contrast deliberately leaves room for doubt about the relationship they will develop.
Both are trying to save someone they love. Both are caught up in the same case. Yet the rules of the game could ultimately pit them directly against each other. Will they join forces to uncover who is behind the kidnappings, or will they ultimately have to become enemies to save their loved ones?
The production describes «kiDnap GAME» as a «global psychological thriller» that focuses on the choices and convictions of human beings when they are placed in extreme situations.
She also highlights the project’s international scope—its story will span seven cities across Asia—as well as the dynamic between its two lead actors: «The powerful synergy between Sakaguchi Kentaro and Lee Joon-gi promises to deliver an unprecedented level of tension.»
With its survival game concept, its large-scale kidnapping plot, and above all, this moral dilemma in which saving one person could mean condemning another, «kiDnap GAME» seems intent on confronting its characters with a particularly cruel question: What becomes of our principles when the life of the person we love is at stake?
«kiDnap GAME» will premiere on October 6 at 10 p.m. (Korean time) on Channel A (no OTT platform has been announced yet).
