Before getting closer, Yim Si-wan and Seol In-ah will begin their story in roles that are, to say the least, incompatible. In « Love in Disguise », Kang Jae-hee initially investigates Yoon Yi-jun for murder. But to get closer to him and continue her investigation, she changes her identity and tries to become his personal secretary. The new footage shows the various stages of this relationship, which promises to become increasingly ambiguous.
«Love in Disguise» will blend romance and thriller, centered around Yoon Yi-jun (Yim Si-wan), an arrogant chaebol heir who becomes a suspect in a murder case, and Kang Jae-hee (Seol In-ah), a former special forces member who became an investigator. Assigned to the case, Jae-hee quickly identifies Yi-jun as one of her prime suspects and therefore decides to keep a close eye on him.
But keeping our distance won't be enough much longer.
From Suspect to Boss for Yim Si-wan
The new images allow us to follow the gradual transformation of their relationship. At first, Yi-jun is the suspect, and Jae-hee is the one investigating him. A photo already highlights their different temperaments: while Jae-hee remains extremely focused during the presentation of the case, Yi-jun maintains a surprisingly relaxed demeanor despite the murder charge hanging over him.
The situation then takes a much more unusual turn when Jae-hee decides to approach her target directly. To continue her undercover investigation, she pretends to be a man in order to apply for the position of Yi-jun's personal secretary, a position reserved for male candidates.
The suspect she had been watching from a distance could thus become her own boss. The new photos show Jae-hee during her interview. Visibly tense and particularly stiff, she faces Yi-jun, who is watching her closely.
The situation is all the more delicate because his investigation now depends on his ability to hide from him both his identity and his true intentions.
A relationship in which each person will have something to hide
«Love in Disguise,» however, is unlikely to remain for long a simple dynamic between investigator and suspect. Once Jae-hee is hired, the two characters will move on to a relationship of executive and personal secretary, spending much more time together, even as each of them keeps to themselves thoughts they are not yet able to share with the other.
This forced closeness is likely to gradually blur the lines between Jae-hee’s mission and what she’s actually beginning to feel. For Yi-jun is unaware that his new secretary is, in fact, working on the investigation targeting him. For her part, Jae-hee will have to continue trying to determine whether he is truly involved in the murder while now sharing her daily life with him. And the growing closeness between the two characters promises to complicate this mission even further.
