Seol In-ah’s investigation into Yim Si-wan could soon take a turn she hadn’t anticipated in « Love in Disguise ». «Love in Disguise» is a romantic thriller adapted from the webtoon and web novel «Why Don't You Know She's a Woman?». Yim Si-wan He will play Yoon Yi-jun, the third-generation heir to the Taegang Group who becomes a suspect in a murder case. Opposite him, Seol In-ah will play Kang Jae-hee, a former special forces member who became a detective.
As we explained yesterday, Jae-hee is going to take his investigation particularly farn: Since the position of Yi-jun’s personal secretary is reserved for men, she will pose as a man in order to get hired and keep an eye on her suspect on a daily basis. Yi-jun gradually closes the distance between them while Jae-hee steps back.
Then comes the explanation for the charge against him: «The crime of making my heart beat.» In just a few seconds, the teaser transforms an arrest scene into a particularly unapologetic statement.
The contrast is all the more amusing given that Jae-hee is supposed to be the one in control of the situation. A former special forces noncommissioned officer and martial arts expert, she holds a combined 9 dan (ranks) in judo, hapkido, and taekwondo.
But the mission ahead of her might turn out to be more complicated than expected. She’ll have to simultaneously figure out whether Yi-jun is actually connected to the murder, protect her identity as a police officer, and continue to pose as his male secretary. Balancing a criminal investigation with a romance, «Love in Disguise» clearly intends to fully embrace its dual identity as a romantic thriller.
