Fans of romances inspired by the world of K-pop will soon have a new drama to add to their list. After introducing the character of Kim Hye-joon, « My Bias, My Boss »This time, it reveals the first images of Cha Woo-min in a role that combines music, fame, and fashion.
Based on a popular webtoon, this new tvN drama will tell the story of Nam Da-reum (Kim Hye-joon), a passionate young woman who is living out the dream of many fans: working at the same company as her favorite idol.
For several years now, she has been a loyal fan of Lee Chan (Cha Woo-min), a member of the group D.N.X. Her admiration for him and his influence in the fashion world even inspired her to pursue a career in marketing so she could join Appello, the company where her favorite artist works.
But her arrival at the company won’t go exactly as she had imagined. While she had hoped to get closer to Lee Chan, she ends up catching the attention of Kang Ha-gi (Kang Hoon), the CEO of Appello, leading to a situation that’s much more complicated than expected.
A Superstar in K-pop, Film, and Fashion
In «My Bias, My Boss,» Cha Woo-min plays Lee Chan, a celebrity who seems to excel at everything.
After starting out as a member of the K-pop group D.N.X, he became a true star with over 10 million followers. Thanks to his talent and hard work, Lee Chan has also established himself as an actor while building a strong influence in the fashion world.
Singing, dancing, sports, playing instruments, foreign languages, and even acting: the character is portrayed as a well-rounded artist, capable of taking on any challenge.
His interest in fashion also led him to create the Appello platform with his friend Kang Ha-gi. Today, in addition to his career in entertainment, he serves as the company’s fashion director.
The newly released photos showcase the different sides of Lee Chan: the idol who shines on stage, the actor in front of the cameras, and the focused professional behind his image as a perfect star.
When a Fan Enters Her Idol's Life
Despite his busy schedule and his status as an unapproachable celebrity, Lee Chan is about to experience an unexpected turn of events when he discovers that Nam Da-reum, the new employee at Appello, is a longtime fan who has been rooting for him.
What begins as a simple expression of gratitude toward someone who has supported him along the way will gradually pique his curiosity. This encounter could thus change the usual relationship between a star and his audience.
For her part, Nam Da-reum will have to learn to separate her admiration from reality as she discovers the true personality of the man she has long watched from afar.
To portray Lee Chan, Cha Woo-min put a great deal of effort into his preparation. In particular, the actor took regular dance lessons to make D.N.X’s performances more believable and to showcase a genuine side of an idol on screen.
The drama will air starting August 3 at 8:50 p.m. (Korean time) and will be available on Viki.
