A princess consumed by grief, a scarred veteran, and a young commander full of ideals: the cast of «Sacred Jewel» («Le Joyau sacré» in French) is taking shape. After Ahn Bo-hyun, the historical drama unveils the first images of Claudia Kim and Lee Sung-min. Two characters who are polar opposites, yet will find themselves working toward the same mission. 1258: A Kingdom on the Brink
The story takes place in 1258, during the Goryeo Dynasty. After nearly thirty years of war against the Mongols, Korea is on the brink of defeat. An expeditionary force is then sent to the battlefield in search of the Pearl of Avalokiteshvara, a sacred relic believed to possess the divine power to protect the nation.

Lee Sung-min, the veteran who's seen it all
To carry out this mission, the still-inexperienced Baek Gyeol will be supported by Choi Gu, played by Lee Sung-min, who rose to fame through «Reborn Rich.» As the leader of the Yabyeolcho, Goryeo’s elite unit, he has survived countless battles.
The first images show him armed with a bow and a sword, his face marked by the passage of time and scars, his gaze so piercing that it intimidates his opponents in an instant. Among the young recruits, a belief is spreading: by his side, we have a chance to survive.
But years of war have also confronted him with the harsh reality of the battlefield. It remains to be seen what fate awaits him on this perilous mission, which could very well be one too many.
Claudia Kim, the Princess Who Shut Herself Off from the World
Far from the front lines, Claudia Kim plays Princess Wang Hee, the emperor’s youngest daughter. A political marriage and a painful loss have led her to close her heart to the world.
Cold and indifferent to the opinions of others, she spends her days bored at Gyeonghwa Palace. That is, until she meets Baek Gyeol, a young commander full of passion and innocence, with whom she falls in love. The feeling is mutual, since Baek Gyeol is also in love with her.
Since the synopsis mentions a princess trying to save the expedition, we can guess that Wang Hee won’t remain locked up in her palace forever.

Featuring an international star, an actor as respected as Lee Sung-min, and an unrecognizable Ahn Bo-hyun, «Sacred Jewel» brings together a promising trio for an epic tale blending war, duty, and thwarted romance.
