«100 Days of Deception» gets off to a strong start on tvN ! Premiering on October 10, the new historical spy drama starring Kim Yoo-jung and Park Jinyoung GOT7's drama recorded a national viewership rating of 5.3 % in its very first episode, marking the strongest debut for a tvN weekend drama in 2026.
But even though the series has barely begun, tensions are already rising between its two main characters. In Episode 2, Sato Hideo begins to seriously distrust Lee Ga-kyeong after an assassination attempt that descended into chaos.

Park Jinyoung Confronts Kim Yoo-jung After an Assassination Attempt
Set during the Japanese occupation of Korea, « 100 Days of Deception » («100 Days as a Spy» in French) follows Lee Ga-kyeong (Kim Yoo-jung), a pickpocket who becomes a spy for the independence movement and infiltrates the Japanese Government-General of Korea.
There, she meets, among others, Kim Tae-woong—also known as Sato Hideo (Park Jinyoung)—an interpreter who is none other than the adopted son of Sato Shinichi (Jin Sun-kyu), one of the highest-ranking officials in the colonial administration.
Warning: Spoilers for Episode 1.
In the first episode, Yoo So-ran (Kim Hyun-joo) and Yoo Philip (Lee Moo-saeng) had hatched a plot to assassinate Sato Shinichi. But their plan was disrupted by the unexpected arrival of Lee Ga-kyeong, who came to demand money for some bullets she had found in Yoo So-ran’s suitcase.
The situation became even more complicated when a mysterious individual, disguised as a cake delivery man, appeared with his own assassination plot. After taking Ga-kyeong hostage, this man had his identity discreetly revealed to Sato Hideo by the young woman, who addressed him in English.
In the new images from Episode 2, Ga-kyeong appears frightened and anxious, surrounded by police officers. Meanwhile, Sato Hideo is holding a gun, and a broken window suggests that a violent confrontation has just taken place.

After managing to leave Yoo So-ran’s house, Ga-kyeong nearly collapses to the ground, as if her legs could no longer support her. But her respite is short-lived.

Hideo Sato joins her and stares at her with a mixture of anger and suspicion. And his suspicions are understandable: he recognizes her as the pickpocket who had previously stolen his wallet. Why was this same young woman later employed as a maid in the house where his father had been a guest?

A series of coincidences that may make it increasingly difficult for Ga-kyeong to keep up her cover. The production team announced: «Lee Ga-kyeong will face a crisis after becoming involved in an unexpected incident. Her complicated relationships with Sato Hideo, Yoo So-ran, and Yoo Philip will also become even more complex and entangled.»

She also added, «Unpredictable events will continue to unfold as Lee Ga-kyeong—now a suspect—eventually becomes a spy for the Gugukdan, rather than a pickpocket or a maid.»
Episode 2 is thus expected to mark an important milestone in the heroine's journey, as she now finds herself caught between several characters whose trust she cannot easily earn.
