TvN

tvN is a South Korean pay-TV channel founded in 2006 and belonging to CJ ENM, one of South Korea's leading entertainment groups. It is now considered one of the leading broadcasters of K-dramas, alongside major Korean networks. The network also airs variety shows and other television programs.

tvN has gained international recognition primarily through its extensive catalog of Korean series. It has aired numerous K-dramas that have become very popular, such as Reply 1988, Goblin, Hotel del Luna, Crash Landing on You, Hospital Playlist, Vincenzo, Hometown Cha-Cha-Cha, Twenty-Five Twenty-One, Alchemy of Souls or even Queen of Tears. His works span a wide variety of genres: romance, comedy, thriller, fantasy, historical, medical, and crime.

However, it’s important to distinguish between the Korean broadcaster and the international platform. A drama may originally air on tvN in South Korea, while its international broadcasting rights are sold to streaming platforms such as Netflix or Viki. Thus, a K-drama available on Netflix is not necessarily a Netflix production: it may originally have been a drama aired by tvN.
