The Story

Lee Young-joon (Park Seo-joon) is the brilliant, charming, and extremely narcissistic vice president of the powerful Yumyung Group.

For the past 9 years, his daily work has revolved around Kim Mi-so (Park Min-young), his impeccably efficient secretary, who can anticipate his every need. But when Mi-so suddenly announces that she wants to resign so she can take back control of her life and finally put herself first, Young-joon is completely thrown off balance. Unable to imagine his life without her, he does everything he can to convince her to stay, even going so far as to consider a romantic relationship.

What begins as a romantic comedy between a self-centered boss and his secretary gradually takes on a more intimate tone as traumatic memories from their childhood resurface. The arrival of Lee Sung-yeon (Lee Tae-hwan), Young-joon’s brother and a famous writer, further complicates their relationship by bringing old secrets to light. Amid office romance, family rivalries, and past wounds, Young-joon and Mi-so gradually discover what they truly mean to each other.

What's Wrong with Secretary Kim has established itself as one of the most memorable Korean romantic comedies of 2018 and as a lasting classic of the «office romance» genre. Airing on the tvN cable network, the series premieres on 5,757 % national audience and peaked at 8,665 % in Episode 11; its national average stands at 7,446 %, with scores regularly exceeding 10 % in the Seoul area.

The chemistry between Park Seo-joon and Park Min-young, the show’s comedic tone, and Lee Young-joon’s highly narcissistic character all played a major role in its popularity. The drama also won several awards: Park Seo-joon won the award for Best Male Performance in a Miniseries at the 2018 APAN Star Awards, while Park Min-young received the K-Star Award for Best Female Actress at the same event.
