Adapted from Kim Eon-hee’s popular web novel, «Calm Lies» has been a major hit in South Korea as well as internationally. The series shares the same universe as «Lee Seop’s Love,» another highly anticipated adaptation reportedly starring Lee Jong-suk.
Lee Jun-hyuk is set to play Tae Jun-seop, the grandson of the TK Group chairman. As the heir to a powerful family, he is described as a man who is as brilliant as he is charming, admired for both his abilities and his good looks.
Gong Seung-yeon, meanwhile, is said to have received an offer for the role of Yeon Woo-kyung, a copywriter who crosses paths with Tae Jun-seop and gradually turns his life upside down.
«Calm Lies» and «Lee Seop’s Love» are part of the same narrative universe created by Kim Eon-hee. Both projects are reportedly being developed simultaneously, with the goal of producing them at the same time.
On the production side, several well-known companies in the Korean industry are participating in the project. Bon Factory, the studio behind hit romances such as Lovely Runner and What's Wrong With Secretary Kim, collaborates with Ace Factory, known in particular for Stranger, as well as A-Man Project.
The project is reportedly set to be directed by Jo Hyun-tak, who recently directed the drama The Story of Mr. Kim, Who Owns a House in Seoul and Works for a Major Company, which was well-received by viewers last year.
