Biography

Born Lee Dong-min on March 30, 1997, in Gunpo, Cha Eun-woo is a South Korean singer, actor, and model. Having first gained recognition as a member of the K-pop group ASTRO, he has established himself over the years as one of the most popular faces of the new generation of Korean actors.

He made his screen debut in 2014 with a small role in the film My Brilliant Life, before officially debuting with ASTRO in 2016. Quickly recognized for his charisma and on-screen presence, he has made numerous appearances in web dramas such as To Be Continued, My Romantic Recipe or even Sweet Revenge.

His acting career took a major turn in 2018 with My ID Is Gangnam Beauty, where his portrayal of Do Kyung-seok earned him international recognition. He then cemented his status as a rising star with the historical drama Rookie Historian Goo Hae-ryung (2019).

In 2020, Cha Eun-woo became a key figure in the Hallyu wave thanks to True Beauty, an adaptation of the famous webtoon, in which he plays Lee Su-ho alongside Moon Ga-young and Hwang In-youp. This role reinforces his image as a specialist in modern romances.

The actor then explores new genres with the fantasy thriller Island (2022), in which he plays the exorcist priest Johan, then returns to romance with A Good Day to Be a Dog (2023). In 2024, he also continued his musical career with his first solo mini-album Entity.
