Gong Yoo (Gong), whose real name is Gong Ji-cheol, is a South Korean actor and model born on July 10, 1979, in Busan. He began his acting career in 2001 with the series School 4, before going on to play several roles on television and in films.
It is gaining popularity thanks to Coffee Prince in 2007, in which he played Choi Han-gyul. After completing his military service between 2008 and 2009, he returned to the big screen with Finding Mr. Destiny then Silenced in 2011. The film, inspired by real events involving acts of violence at a school for deaf children, was a particularly significant milestone in his career.
In 2016, Gong Yoo gained significant international recognition with three major productions: the melodrama A Man and a Woman, the disaster movie Last Train to Busan, in which he plays Seok-woo, and the historical thriller The Age of Shadows.
