Biography

Born on November 6, 1981, in Seoul, Lee Dong-wook is a South Korean actor, model, and TV host who has become one of the iconic faces of K-dramas. Having begun his career in 1999, he has made a name for himself thanks to his elegance, charisma, and ability to transition from romance to thriller with great intensity.

After making his debut in the children's series School, he had his first huge hit with the romantic comedy My Girl (2005), which helped make him a Hallyu star in Asia. He went on to solidify his status with dramas such as Scent of a Woman (2011), Hotel King (2014) or even Bubble Gum (2015).

His career took on a new dimension in 2016 with the global phenomenon Goblin (Guardian: The Lonely and Great God), where his unforgettable role as the Reaper alongside Gong Yoo captivated millions of viewers. This mysterious and melancholic character became one of the most memorable in his filmography.

Always on the lookout for new challenges, Lee Dong-wook explores different roles: a doctor in Life (2018), a romantic lawyer in Touch Your Heart (2019), but also a menacing killer in the psychological thriller Strangers From Hell (2019).

He solidifies his status as a leading actor with his role as Lee Yeon, a legendary gumiho, in Tale of the Nine Tailed (2020) and then Tale of the Nine-Tailed 1938 (2023). He continues with Bad and Crazy (2021–2022) and makes a big impression in 2024 in the action series A Shop for Killers, in which he plays the mysterious Jeong Jin-man.
