Biography

Lee Sung-kyung (이성경; 李聖經) is a South Korean actress, model, and singer born on August 10, 1990, in Goyang. Passionate about music from a young age, she initially planned to pursue a career as a pianist before an injury led her to modeling. After studying at Dongduk Women’s University, she caught the public’s attention during the SBS Super Model Contest and became one of the iconic faces of YG KPlus, walking the runway for numerous brands and appearing in major Korean fashion magazines.

She began her acting career in 2014 in It’s Okay, That’s Love, and then continues with Queen's Flower, Cheese in the Trap and Doctors. His career took on a new dimension in 2016 thanks to the role of Kim Bok-joo in Weightlifting Fairy Kim Bok-joo, a romantic comedy that has achieved cult status and showcases her talent for blending humor, emotion, and authenticity.

She went on to cement her popularity with About Time, Seasons 2 and 3 of Dr. Romantic, Sh**ting Stars and melodrama Call It Love. At the same time, she regularly lends her voice to several drama soundtracks and appears on various music shows.

In 2025, Lee Sung-kyung co-stars with The Good Man starring Lee Dong-wook, in which she plays Kang Mi-young, while also making a guest appearance in The Player 2: Master of Swindlers. She then reprised the lead role in 2026 in In Your Brilliant Season, a romance alongside Chae Jong-hyeop, in which she plays Song Ha-ran.

Thanks to her elegance, her radiant presence, and her ability to transition effortlessly from romantic comedy to drama, Lee Sung-kyung has established herself as one of the most beloved actresses of her generation in South Korea.
