Kang Seok-woo (Kang Seok-woo), whose real name is Kang Man-heung, is a South Korean actor and radio host born on October 1, 1957, in Seoul. A graduate of Dongguk University’s Department of Theater and Film, he began his career in the late 1970s and made his film debut in Yeosu (The Loneliness of the Journey). He made his first appearance in a television series with Ordinary People in 1982.
A prominent figure in the film industry during the 1980s and early 1990s, Kang Seok-woo starred notably in The Stranger (1984), Winter Wanderer (1986), The Home of Two Women (1987), Dangerous Scent (1988), Lost Love (1991) and Walking All the Way to Heaven (1992). He won the Best New Actor award at the Baeksang Arts Awards for Ordinary People in 1984, and then in the film category for The Stranger in 1985.
Starting in the mid-1990s, he focused primarily on television. His extensive filmography includes, among others, School (1999), You Are My Destiny (2008), Smile, You (2009), Can We Get Married? (2012), My Father Is Strange (2017), Home for Summer (2019) and Goodbye Earth (2024). In 2026, he played Park Man-jae in In Your Radiant Season.
In addition to his acting career, he works as a radio host and DJ and appears on several variety shows, including Take Care of My Dad. He is also interested in the visual arts and has shown his work in several exhibitions.
Kang Seok-woo has been married to Na Yeon-shin since 1990.
