Jang Dong-yoon (장동윤) is a South Korean actor born on July 12, 1992, in Daegu. Before beginning his acting career, he completed his military service between 2012 and 2014, then studied at Hanyang University. His entry into the entertainment industry was quite unusual: in 2015, while he was still a student, he helped apprehend an armed robber who was threatening a store employee. His actions were reported in the media and earned him an award from the Seoul Metropolitan Police Agency.
He began his acting career in 2016 in the web series Game Development Girls, before landing a major role in Solomon’s Perjury. The following year, he gained greater recognition thanks to School 2017, in which he plays Song Dae-hwi.
In 2018, he appeared in A Poem a Day and in the historical series Mr. Sunshine. He also made his film debut in Beautiful Days. His popularity skyrocketed in 2019 when he played Jeon Nok-du in The Tale of Nokdu, a particularly notable role that allowed him to showcase both his comedic and dramatic talents.

In 2025, Jang Dong-yoon plays Cha Su-yeol in the thriller Queen Mantis. It continues in 2026 with Night of Heaven, in which he plays Cheong Guk. He is also set to make a guest appearance in The Miracles of the Namiya General Store.
