Jung Chae-yeon (정채연; 鄭采妍) is a South Korean singer, actress, and model born on December 1, 1997, in Suncheon. She rose to fame thanks to the TV show Produce 101, she got her start in 2015 with the band DIA, before becoming part of the phenomenon I.O.I in 2016. While continuing her musical career, she quickly turned to acting, where she gradually established herself as a promising actress.
After appearing in several roles in Drinking Solo, To: Jenny and My First First Love, it is gaining popularity with The King's Affection, and then landed her first major role in The Golden Spoon (2022), in which she plays Na Joo-hee. That same year, a serious accident on set left her with a broken collarbone and a concussion, delaying production of the series, before she made her return after recovering.
In 2024, she confirmed her rise to prominence with Family by Choice, one of the most popular dramas of the year. She then went on to star in The Path of Justice (Beyond the Bar) in 2025, where she takes on an unprecedented challenge by playing the twins Kang Hyo-min and Kang Hyo-ju, two women who are complete opposites but whom fate brings together.
The year 2026 marks a new chapter with *M2020*, a science-fiction thriller in which she plays the lead role of Jenny, also known as «M,» before making a special appearance in *Flex X Cop*—Season 2.
In 2027, Jung Chae-yeon will return to television in *Green Light* (Geurin Raiteu), where she will play Song Ji-u, while also making a cameo appearance in The Miracles of the Namiya General Store.
Thanks to her natural elegance, her charm on screen, and her steady growth, Jung Chae-yeon has successfully established herself, transitioning from a K-pop idol to a recognized actress of the new generation.
