Kim Da-mi (김다미) is a South Korean actress born on April 9, 1995. A graduate of the Department of Performing Arts at Incheon National University, she began her career in independent film before becoming one of the most acclaimed actresses of her generation.
She made her screen debut in 2017 in the omnibus film Project with the Same Name. The following year, she landed the lead role in The Witch: Part 1. The Subversion after being selected from among approximately 1,500 candidates. In the film, she plays Koo Ja-yoon, a young woman with a mysterious past and extraordinary abilities. Her performance, particularly in the action scenes, has earned her numerous awards for Best New Actress as well as the Best Actress award at the Fantasia International Film Festival.
In 2020, Kim Da-mi made her television debut in Itaewon Class. In the series, she plays Jo Yi-seo, a brilliant, outspoken, and unpredictable young woman who joins the company founded by Park Seo-joon’s character. The role was a huge success and earned her the Baeksang Arts Award for Best New Actress in Television.
She then reaffirms her popularity in romance Our Beloved Summer in 2021, in which she plays Kook Yeon-soo alongside Choi Woo-shik. Their on-screen chemistry and the series’ melancholic tone have further cemented her international recognition.
In the movie, she briefly reprises the role of Koo Ja-yoon in The Witch: Part 2. The Other One in 2022. In 2023, she played one of the leading roles in Soulmate, in which she plays An Mi-so. She then appears in the disaster movie The Great Flood in 2025.
That same year, Kim Da-mi made a strong return to television with two very different leading roles. In the thriller Nine Puzzles, she plays Yun I-na, a criminal profiler connected to an old murder case. She also plays Ko Yeong-rye in A Hundred Memories, a drama that focuses more on human relationships and memories.
Thanks to her choice of challenging roles and her ability to switch between action, thriller, romance, and drama, Kim Da-mi has established herself as one of the most distinctive actresses of her generation.
