Park Hae-joon (박해준; 朴海俊), whose real name is Park Sang-woo (박상우; 朴相佑), is a South Korean actor born on June 14, 1976, in Busan. A graduate of the prestigious Korea National University of Arts, he made his stage debut in the mid-2000s before joining the Chaimu theater troupe, where he developed a restrained yet intense acting style that would become his trademark.
After making his film debut in Helpless and Hwayi: A Monster Boy, he made a name for himself on television with Doctor Stranger, Misaeng and My Mister. Her performance in the independent film 4th Place earned him his first nominations, before he went on to prove his talent in the thriller Believer.
The breakthrough came in 2020 with The World of the Married, in which he plays Lee Tae-oh, an unfaithful husband who has become one of the most hated characters on Korean television. This role brought him immense fame. He then went on to The 8 Show, the blockbuster movie 12.12: The Day and the When Life Gives You Tangerines, in which his portrayal of Yang Gwan-sik in his later years earned him the nickname «Father of the Nation.».
In 2025, he went on to play leading roles in Love, Take Two and the spy series Tempest, while making an appearance in Aema. The following year, he returned to television with To the best of our ability, in which he plays the lead role, while continuing his film career with Humint.
Thanks to the depth of his acting, his understated charisma, and his exemplary career spanning theater, film, and television, Park Hae-joon is now considered one of South Korea’s most respected character actors.
