After revealing the Woo Soo-bin and Joo Yi-jae's reunion in the first teasers, « Dream to You »now goes back in time.".
ENA has released new images that take viewers back 15 years, to the time when the characters from Hwang In-yeop and Hyeri were still high school students and experiencing their first love. These photos offer insight into the deep bond that united the two protagonists before they reunited as adults.
A dream of making movies that began in my teens
The new photos show Woo Soo-bin and Joo Yi-jae when they were still in high school.
In particular, we see Joo Yi-jae, focused behind a camera, already passionate about film and determined to become a director. By her side, Woo Soo-bin loyally supports her, sharing her artistic ambitions.
Another photo captures a lighter, more romantic moment: Woo Soo-bin presents Joo Yi-jae with a bouquet of flowers after she wins an award, with both of them beaming.
These scenes directly echo the first teaser released a few days earlier. Viewers had learned then that it was Joo Yi-jae who inspired Woo Soo-bin to pursue her own dreams by saying to her, «Let’s make a movie together.»
At the time, the young man was living in a world shaped by his parents' expectations. His encounter with Joo Yi-jae marked a turning point and allowed him to find his own path.
A promise that has lasted fifteen years
As revealed in previous teasers, Woo Soo-bin eventually fulfills that dream and becomes an internationally renowned director. But despite his success, he never forgets the woman who inspired him.
Fifteen years later, he returns to Joo Yi-jae, who has become a journalist after giving up her dream of becoming a director. Just as the young woman is trying to put her past behind her, the return of her first love turns her life upside down.
The recently released teaser already showed a particularly direct Woo Soo-bin, asking as soon as they were reunited, «Do you have a boyfriend?» The trailer also ended with a symbolic proposal when he pulled out an old screenplay they had written together during their teenage years. «I want to turn this into a movie, but it doesn’t have an ending. Let’s do it together,» he told her.
The new photos now lend even more emotional weight to this scene by specifically showing the memories that the director has held dear all these years.
Hwang In-yeop recently described «Dream to You» as a work that prompts viewers to reflect on the true meaning of success and happiness. For her part, Hyeri said she was captivated by the way the narrative constantly shifts between the characters’ past and present, allowing viewers to gradually discover how their story unfolded.
«Dream to You» will premiere on July 13 on ENA and will be available on Viki.
