A hot-tempered psychiatrist, a workaholic computer scientist, and a stingy landlady: here is the unexpected trio from « Rebooting Today! » (literal title), a new sitcom that could bring together Jung Eun-chae, Jang Do-yeon, and Yuri of Girls’ Generation. The production company confirmed that the three women are giving the offer serious consideration.

Three friends and one motto: start over every day
«Rebooting Today!» follows the daily lives of three best friends in their early 40s who live in Pangyo. This city near Seoul has become the country’s leading technology hub, so much so that it is often referred to as the «Korean Silicon Valley.».
The title sums up their philosophy: every morning, they «restart» their lives, just like you restart a computer. It’s a way to survive a daily life that’s as chaotic as it is exhausting, juggling career, love, and friendship.
The series blends office comedy, humor, and romance, and promises to capture the fast-paced lifestyle of this generation of thirty-somethings.
Three profiles that have nothing in common
Each of the three actresses was offered a role of her own:
- Jung Eun-chae, who appeared in «Pachinko» and «Jeongnyeon: The Star Is Born,» is said to be Jang Na-hyun, a psychiatrist who herself struggles to manage her anger. An ideal paradox for a comedy.
- Jang Do-yeon, one of Korea's most popular comedians, is set to play Jo Anna, an IT professional from Pangyo who lives only for her work.
- Yuri, a member of Girls’ Generation, is set to play Baek Ok-hee, the owner of a small apartment building and a villa in Pangyo—a woman who is as wealthy as she is stingy.
A bold cast
On paper, it’s a bold move. Jung Eun-chae is best known for dramatic roles, Jang Do-yeon comes from a comedy background, and Yuri has juggled a music career with acting roles. Their collaboration could create a dynamic very different from that of traditional sitcoms, driven by three complementary energies.
The series is produced by Contents Lab VIVO.
This project also confirms the resurgence of a format that had fallen out of favor in Korea in recent years. Just a few days ago, TVING announced « Palace Land », its first original sitcom.
No network or air date has been announced yet.
