The drama Buy King takes place in the world of a powerful chaebol family, the family-owned conglomerates that dominate the South Korean economy.
The story will explore the alliances, betrayals and ruptures within the clan as family members battle it out in a war of succession estimated at tens of billions of won.
Update, July 20: Choi Dae-hoon has been officially confirmed to star in «Buy King» (working title), a new drama centered on power struggles within a powerful chaebol family.
Choi Dae-hoon will play Michael, a former bodyguard who has become chief of staff to Han Ji-yeol, the chairman of BK Holdings. Devoted to his boss, Michael is expected to play an important role in the succession battle that will rock the family.
The character of Han Ji-yeol was, in fact, proposed to Lee Jun-ho, whose participation is still under discussion.
