Disney+ has officially announced the main cast of its new original drama Code, a thriller blending mystery, crime, and the supernatural. Scheduled for 2027, the series promises to explore the limits of human ambition through a mysterious app capable of granting wishes… but never without a catch.
An app that turns wishes into nightmares
Code to follow Yoon Tae-joo (Nam Joo-hyuk), a lawyer as brilliant as he is ambitious. A former investigator for the district attorney’s office who became a lawyer, he is willing to cross any line to join the most prestigious law firm in the country.
His life is turned upside down when he receives an invitation to a mysterious app called Code, capable of granting its users' wishes. Drawn in by this opportunity, Yoon Tae-joo finds himself caught up in a downward spiral where greed and immoral choices could have irreversible consequences.
This role will mark a new chapter in Nam Joo-hyuk's career, as he plays a character who will stop at nothing to reach the top.
An investigation caught between ambition, truth, and greed
Facing him, Lee Yi-dam will perform Park Ji-dam, a prosecutor with the Seoul Central District Prosecutors' Office. Tasked with uncovering the truth behind the mysterious events related to Code, she relentlessly pursues Yoon Tae-joo, with whom she shares a common past that makes each of their confrontations particularly tense.
The cast is completed by Kim Eui-sungin the role of Jo Cheol-ho, a North Korean hacker and defector who will eventually team up with Yoon Tae-joo in his quest for answers.
Finally, Park Hoon as Im Chang-jae, a seasoned detective with the homicide division and a close friend of Yoon Tae-joo. Despite their sometimes differing methods, he will help her track down the source of this mysterious app.
With its premise that every wish comes at a price, *Code* sets out to explore the themes of greed, power, and the consequences of human choices in a promising psychological thriller.
The drama is expected in 2027 Exclusively on Disney+.
