Billed as a legal and family comedy-drama, Divorce Investigator Hong Mal Geum The series will follow a mother of three whose life is turned upside down after her husband's infidelity and their divorce.

Determined to protect her children and rebuild her life, she became an investigator for the family court. Her job is to conduct investigations at the request of judges in cases involving divorce, child custody, adoption, child abuse, and juvenile delinquency.

As she works on each case, she will seek to uncover the truth while helping families find a resolution to their conflicts. The drama is inspired by real cases handled by investigators at family courts in Korea.

Lee Bo-young was offered the role of Hong Mal Geum, a detective with a remarkable eye for detail and exceptionally keen intuition. After divorcing the man she «wanted to kill,» she is raising her three children on her own while fearlessly facing the challenges of her new daily life.

Kang Tae-oh will play Charles Kim, whose real name is Kim Cheol-soo. Charles Kim is described as a lawyer who is as competent as he is unbearably self-assured. With a luxury suit spectacular enough to turn the courtroom into a red carpet, a Ferrari in flashy colors, and a deliberately provocative attitude, he loves to draw attention and makes no attempt whatsoever to hide his ego.

Behind this difficult-to-judge personality, however, lies a lawyer with a 100 % win rate, capable of winning even cases that seem hopeless from the start.

His motivation is far from idealistic. Charles Kim is not seeking the truth, nor is he seeking honor or any sense of justice: His main goal is money.. An obsession that should nevertheless reveal a more complex side of the character, since it apparently stems from a painful family history that he keeps secret.
