No sooner had Namgoong Ho and Lee Mi-do decided to give their relationship another chance than two other people began to complicate things. In Episode 3 of « A Love Other Than Yours », which aired on September 19, Seo Kang-joon will, in particular, build closer ties with Jo Aram. And behind their squabbles at work might lie a story that the drama hasn't yet fully told.
«A Love Other Than Yours» continues Namgoong Ho (Seo Kang-jun) and Lee Mi-do (Ahn Eun-jin), a couple who have been together for 10 years and whose relationship is going through a rough patch. After the turmoil of the first few episodes, Ho and Mi-do have finally decided to get back together, unable to ignore the feelings that still bind them.
But just because they're back together doesn't mean the road to marriage will be easy. Two new characters might even make them question what they're really looking for in a relationship.
Are Seo Kang-joon and Jo Aram hiding something?
Episode 3 will focus in particular on Park Soo-ah (Jo Aram), who works with Namgoong Ho.
On the surface, their relationship seems relatively simple: they’re coworkers—one is the other’s senior—and their professional interactions are regularly punctuated by bickering. However, a remark made by Ho in the preview for the next episode suggests that their story may have begun earlier than viewers realized.
The drama hasn't yet revealed exactly what happened between them, but that past takes on new significance as Soo-ah begins to show her interest in Ho much more clearly.
The new images show the two characters spending time together and appearing to gradually bridge the gap between them. Despite their arguments at work, their closeness develops naturally.
Soo-ah, above all, has no intention of sitting idly by. Her direct approach to pursuing Ho is likely to start changing the dynamic between him and Mi-do, just as the couple has reunited.
Ahn Eun-jin is also getting closer to Lee Joo-ahn
However, the threat doesn't come solely from Ho. Lee Mi-do will also develop a new bond with Han Tae-seung (Lee Joo-ahn).
Their initial interactions had been difficult, but that bad first impression should gradually give way to a more interesting relationship. The new stills from Episode 3 show Tae-seung and Mi-do together, hinting at a chemistry different from the one she shares with Ho.
The drama thus seems to avoid portraying Soo-ah and Tae-seung as mere obstacles intended to artificially separate the main couple. Rather, their arrival should force Ho and Mi-do to look at their ten-year relationship from a different perspective.
The production team also invites viewers to ask themselves whether The 10 years they've spent together and their future efforts will truly be enough to lead Ho and Mi-do to marriage.
According to the production team, Soo-ah and Tae-seung will help them discover aspects of themselves they weren't yet aware of, and also encourage them to reflect on their own definition of love.
After depicting a couple unable to truly move on despite their difficulties, «A Love Other Than Yours» will now explore this reconciliation: Getting back together is one thing; knowing why they still want to build a future together is another.
