Hwang Min-hyun (í©ëŻŒí), also known as Minhyun, is a South Korean singer, songwriter, and actor born on August 9, 1995. Scouted by Pledis Entertainment at the age of 15, he made his debut in the music industry in 2012 as a member of the group NUâEST.
In 2017, he participated in Produce 101 Season 2 and finished in ninth place, thereby joining the group Wanna One. After the group disbanded, he rejoined NUâEST in 2019 and continued performing with the group until its disbandment in 2022. At the same time, he pursued a solo career, marked in particular by the release of his first mini-album Truth or Lie in 2023.
Hwang Min-hyun is also branching out into comedy. After a stint in film in Their Distance in 2016 and in the musical Marie Antoinette In 2019, he landed his first leading role in a drama with Live On in 2020, in which he plays Go Eun-taek.
His acting career took on a new dimension thanks to Alchemy of Souls and Alchemy of Souls: Light and Shadow, in which he plays Seo Yul. In 2023, he went on to play the lead role of Kim Do-ha in My Lovely Liar.
In 2025, Hwang Min-hyun continues his career with a school drama Study Group, in which he plays the lead character, Yoon Ga-min. He reprises this role in Study Group Season 2, scheduled for 2026, thus confirming his dual career between music and K-dramas.
