A college friendship that makes its way onto the screen. Lee Sang-yi will make a special appearance this Saturday in episode 13 of « A Love Other Than Yours ». He owes this involvement to a very real connection: the actor and Ahn Eun-jin, the series' heroine, went to college together.
The show's production team made the announcement on October 31: Lee Sang-yi will appear in episode 13, which airs that same evening. This comes as a big surprise to fans as the series nears its end—with only two episodes left.
Former classmates
Lee Sang-yi accepted this small role primarily out of friendship. He and Ahn Eun-jin were in the same class at the Korea National University of Arts, one of the country’s most prestigious drama schools.
A behind-the-scenes photo shows the two former classmates striking a playful pose, a sign of a bond that clearly hasn't faded over the years.
The Intriguing Showdown
New stills from the episode show Lee Mi-do (Ahn Eun-jin) sitting across from Lee Sang-yi, listening calmly as he speaks. The contrast between their expressions leaves viewers wondering: What are they talking about, and what role will the actor play in the plot?
At this point in the story, any new encounter could have a major impact. Since Episode 11, the couple—Mi-do and Namgoong Ho (Seo Kang-jun)—has been going through a deep crisis after Mi-do discovered Park Soo-ah (Jo A-ram) in her partner’s bed. The one-month pact, meant to save their ten-year relationship, seems, above all, to have weakened it.
A highly sought-after actor
Brought to the attention of the general public by « Hometown Cha-Cha-Cha », Lee Sang-yi has one project after another. He will also soon be back alongside Park Bo-gum and Ko Kyung-pyo in Season 2 of « The Village Barber », the variety show in which the trio runs a hair salon in a seaside village.
Episode 13 of «A Love Other Than Yours» will air this Saturday, October 31, at 9:20 p.m. (Korean time)—which is 1:20 p.m. in France—on KBS 2TV and will be available internationally on Prime Video.
