Choo Young-woo and Kim So-hyun give us a first glimpse of their romance in « Between Steps » (formerly titled «Romance Expert» or «Love Doctor»). The new drama has just released two teasers with a particularly sweet atmosphere, while confirming its air date: tune in on October 5, 2026.
«Between Steps» is one of the late director Ahn Pan-seok’s final projects; he was the director behind several popular romantic dramas, such as «Something in the Rain,» «One Spring Night,» and «The Midnight Romance in Hagwon.».
This time, the story brings together two young adults whose life plans have been turned upside down and who will each, in their own way, try to find a new direction.
Two characters who must reinvent their futures
Choo Young-woo, actor Park Min-jae, a former swimmer who dreamed of making a career out of it before an illness caused him to lose his right leg. Forced to give up his athletic dream, he decided to rebuild his life and became a doctoral student in robotics.
Kim So-hyun, for her part, plays the role of Im Yoo-jin. Just as she was about to graduate with a degree in clothing and textiles, an unexpected event led her to discover robotics and embark on a path she had never considered.
«Between Steps» will thus tell their love story, but also explore how two people who have lost the direction they thought they were following will gradually discover a new one. And the first teasers already suggest that their growing closeness will play a central role in the story.
A blunt statement by Choo Young-woo
In the first teaser, Park Min-jae and Im Yoo-jin walk together in the rain, sheltered by the same umbrella. It’s a simple, intimate scene in which Min-jae confides in her: «You’re like the sun. Scorching.» « Yoo-jin then replies, »Now, don’t worry about a thing.”
The second scene focuses more on the duo’s chemistry. Sitting together on a bus, Yoo-jin asks Min-jae why he suddenly wanted to see her, before teasing him: «Do you love me that much?» The answer comes immediately: «Yes.»
When she asks him what he likes so much about her, Min-jae simply starts by saying, «You’re pretty,» before adding that she’s cute and kind.
These first two teasers therefore focus more on glances, everyday conversations, and the closeness between the characters than on grand romantic gestures, already offering a glimpse into the intimate tone of this new story.
«Between Steps» will premiere on October 5, 2026, on ENA, Genie TV, and Disney+ in Korea, and of course, we’ll keep you updated on any potential international streaming platforms.
