Consisting of 12 episodes, «It’s 1992» will be set at the fictional SBC network and will chronicle the creation of a new news and investigative program.

The project aims to blend several genres: retro office drama, mystery, detective story, and romance. This combination should make it possible to track both the work of television crews and the cases they are investigating.

Yang Se-jong was offered the role of a producer, while Kim Se-jeong could play a television writer.

The director of «Taxi Driver» is particularly familiar with this world

«It's 1992» will be directed and produced by Park Joon-woo, while the screenplay will be written by Hong Ji-oh.

The director's choice is particularly interesting given the subject matter. Before moving into fiction, Park Joon-woo himself worked in news and investigative programming. In particular, he directed the iconic SBS show «Unanswered Questions» («I Want to Know That» / «I Want to Know That»).

His experience with gathering information, conducting field research, and understanding the inner workings of a newsroom could thus lend a more realistic dimension to the creation of the fictional show at the heart of «It’s 1992.».

Park Joon-woo then made a name for himself as a drama director with the the first season of «Taxi Driver», which already combined entertainment with social issues through stories of victims seeking justice.

More recently, he directed «Scarecrow» («허수아비»), inspired by the case of serial killer Lee Chun-jae.

Yang Se-jong and Kim Se-jeong have not yet been confirmed

Attention is now turning to the two actors who have been approached to star in this new story.

Yang Se-jong could take on the role of the producer working on the development of this new investigative show, while Kim Se-jeong is in talks to play a television writer.

Their potential pairing could also bring to life the romantic element hinted at in the project, even though details about their characters and their relationship remain limited for now.

Above all, Their cast hasn't been officially announced yet. The media outlet reports that Yang Se-jong and Kim Se-jeong have received offers, though they have not yet confirmed their participation. We will therefore have to wait for responses from their agencies or the production team before we can consider their collaboration a done deal.
