A Joseon Queen in the Body of a High School Girl
The story continues Kim Chung-ha, Joseon's greatest warrior and queen consort, who wakes up 400 years later in the body of Kim Da-jin, a high school student who was the victim of bullying.
Determined not to let the bullies continue to run rampant, she decides to use her royal authority and her fighting skills to restore order to the school.
Kim Se-jeong shared that this role brings together everything she has portrayed so far: «I felt that this character embodies all the facets of the roles I’ve played up to now. So I’m preparing for it with enthusiasm, but also with a strong sense of responsibility. Since the storyline and the key moments in each episode are essential, I’m training intensively, both for my acting and for the action scenes. I’ll do my best to bring joy and emotion to viewers through Chung-ha.»
Two actors, two eras
Bae Hyeon-seong will play two characters: Seong Won-joo, a royal guard devoted to Queen Chung-ha during the Joseon Dynasty, and Seong Si-woo, the star of the kendo club in the present day.
The actor explained, «The story, which blends action, romance, and fantasy, immediately drew me in. Since the drama moves back and forth between the past and the present, I’m looking forward to showcasing different facets of my acting. I’ll work hard to deliver a great project to viewers.»
For his part, Cho Han-gyul will also play a dual role: Lee Nyeong, the king of Joseon, and Lee Do-yoon, a mysterious transfer student.
