There's a Winning Chance is the Korean adaptation of the Japanese series Legal V: Former Lawyer Takanashi Shoko, broadcast in 2018 on TV Asahi. The story revolves around a former lawyer deprived of his license, whose life turns upside down after a mistake or an event still kept secret.

Deprived of his status, the main character finds himself on the bangs of the legal system he knew by heart. But this exclusion also becomes an opportunity: to question the rules, to circumvent the obstacles and to prove that there's always a chance of winning, even when all seems lost.

The plot follows the atypical members of a small law firm headed by Kwon Baek, a former lawyer turned administrative director. Together, they will try to win cases considered lost in advance, using methods as original as they are unexpected.

Lee Je-hoon will play Kwon Baek, He was once a star lawyer before his career collapsed following a corruption scandal that cost him his license. After disappearing for a while, he reappears at the head of the modest Seungsan Law Office, which he relaunches by bringing together a team of personalities with very different profiles.

For her part, Ha Young will play Yeo Shim-hee, A young up-and-coming lawyer, she lacks wealth and influential connections, but is known for her determination and hard work. Unaware that her lifelong role model, Kwon Baek, has been implicated in a corruption scandal, she accepts his offer and becomes lead counsel at Seungsan Law Office.

With its mix of humor, legal proceedings and colorful characters, «The Long Shot Trial» promises to be one of the most eagerly awaited K-dramas of 2027.

SBS has confirmed that the drama starring Lee Je-hoon and Ha Young, originally scheduled for the first half of 2027, no longer has an air date. This decision comes in the wake of controversy surrounding the actress’s family history; she has also withdrawn from «The Trauma Code.».
