Twelve years after their breakup, she walks through the door of his restaurant. And nothing will ever be the same again. MBC has officially announced the cast of « Wed Thurs Fri » (literal title), a romance about second chances starring Shin Min-ah, Lee Jin-uk and Yoo Teo. A powerhouse trio, backed by a creative team with a track record of success.
A restaurant open 3 days a week
The 12-episode series takes place in a restaurant unlike any other, called «Wed Thurs Fri,» because it’s only open on Wednesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays. It is there that a lost first love will resurface, twelve years later.
The story explores love, forgiveness, and the desire to become a better person, through the lives of two people who thought they had moved on.
Shin Min-ah, a wife whose heart is elsewhere
Shin Min-ah, currently starring in « The Remarried Empress » on Disney+, played by Cha Eun-soo. After breaking up with her first love, she married another man. But deep down, she longs for a different life—the one she truly desires.
Twelve years later, she returns to the man she left… while hiding her true intentions.
Lee Jin-uk, the chef who is no longer alive
Opposite her, Lee Jin-wook plays Kim Dong-woo, the restaurant’s chef. Haunted by memories of his first love—whom he was unable to hold on to—he has since led an emotionally stagnant life. He works three days a week and spends the other four doing absolutely nothing.
His peaceful routine is shattered the day Cha Eun-soo walks through the door of his restaurant. The actor, who rose to fame in «Sweet Home,» is definitely on a roll: he has also just been cast in «Unnatural,» starring Yoona.
Yoo Teo, the Husband with a Troubled Heart
Yoo Teo, known to international audiences for the film «Past Lives,» rounds out the trio as Lee Won-pil, Cha Eun-soo’s husband. As the CEO of a major construction company, he has it all: talent and wealth. Except that he doesn’t know how to love.
Even the way he protects those who matter to him is out of the ordinary, and he sometimes reveals troubling desires. This sets the stage for a love triangle that’s far darker than a simple romance.
A team with a long history of success
Behind the camera, the series is directed by Jung Dong-yoon, who is known for «Stove League» and the «Gyeongseong Creature» series. The screenplay is by Joo Hyun, the writer of «The World of the Married.» And Kang Eun-kyung, the creator of «Dr. Romantic,» is overseeing the project.
«Wed Thurs Fri» is expected to air on MBC in the first half of 2027.
