Shin Min-a (Shin Min-ah), whose real name is Yang Min-a, is a South Korean actress and model born on April 5, 1984, in Yecheon County, North Gyeongsang Province. She began her career as a model, notably for the magazine KiKi, before making a name for herself in advertising and then as an actress.
She began her acting career in the early 2000s with Beautiful Days (2001), and then made his film debut in Volcano High that same year. She went on to star in several films, including A Bittersweet Life (2005), The Beast and the Beauty (2005), A Million (2009), Gyeongju (2014), My Love, My Bride (2014), Diva (2020) and Our Season (2023).
On television, she landed major roles in A Love to Kill (2005) and Lucifer (2007). Its popularity has grown significantly thanks to My Girlfriend Is a Gumiho (2010), in which she plays a mythical Korean creature. She went on to star in Arang and the Magistrate (2012), Oh My Venus (2015), Tomorrow With You (2017) and the two seasons of Chief of Staff in 2019.
In 2021, she enjoyed another success with Hometown Cha-Cha-Cha, as Yoon Hye-jin. She then played Min Seon-ah in Our Blues (2022), and then Son Hae-yeong in No Gain, No Love (2024).
In 2025, she also plays a leading role in Karma. Among its announced projects are The Remarried Empress in 2026, in which she plays Navier Ellie Trovi, as well as Wed Thurs Fri, scheduled for 2027. On the big screen, she is also set to appear in The Eyes (2026).
