Before the divorce and remarriage, which were already shown in the previous teaser, « The Remarried Empress »takes a few steps back. New footage shows how the four main characters gradually grow closer to new partners, culminating in a ballroom scene that seems to mark the breakup between Navier and Sovieshu.".
Shin Min-ah and Ju Ji-hoon Yet at first glance, they appear to be a couple still united. Navier and Sovieshu, married for many years and ruling the Eastern Empire, embrace tenderly. It is an almost peaceful image, but one whose balance will not withstand Heinrey’s arrival (Lee Jong-suk) and Rashta (Lee Se-young).

Heinrey makes his entrance at the Imperial Palace as part of a delegation that has come to celebrate the New Year. As a prince of the Western Empire surrounded by numerous rumors, he clearly does not go unnoticed when he meets Navier.
In one of the new images, Heinrey bows before the empress and respectfully kisses her hand. The gesture draws the attention of those around them, but Navier herself seems unable to take her eyes off the prince.
This first encounter obviously takes on a whole new meaning once we know what happens next: Heinrey is the man Navier will eventually ask to remarry after Sovieshu files for divorce.
But just as the prince of the Western Empire begins to enter Navier’s life, Sovieshu also meets someone new.
The emperor comes to Rashta’s aid when she finds herself in trouble on a hunting ground. He quickly falls under the spell of her spontaneous and radiant personality. Rashta then finds herself at the palace, where the special attention the emperor gives her transforms her daily life.

It is ultimately at a ball that the new images make the change particularly evident.
In front of the other guests, Sovieshu does not take his wife’s hand. Instead, he takes Rashta’s, seemingly unconcerned about the stares from those around them.
Navier, however, finds himself face to face with Heinrey. The prince approaches him in turn and extends his hand, creating a very clear contrast: the emperor and the empress are still married, but each is already standing face to face with the person who will change the course of their lives.
Above all, this scene serves to show, at a much more advanced stage, what the previous teaser had hinted at. Sovieshu will eventually file for divorce to separate from Navier, but the empress will turn the tables by accepting his decision before immediately requesting permission to marry Heinrey.
The new images, therefore, focus less on the breakup itself than on the initial changes that will gradually lead to it: a meeting at the palace, a budding attraction, and, ultimately, two hands reaching out toward new partners.
