A singer who hides her true identity, a boss obsessed with artificial intelligence, and a three-month contract: « What a Boss Wants »promises a romance that is as unexpected as it is tumultuous.".
With one month to go before its premiere, the new romantic drama starring Sung Hoon and Oh Se-young has just unveiled its first teaser. And the first images show how an encounter—to say the least, an unusual one—will turn the lives of its two main characters upside down.
Adapted from a web novel of the same name, «What a Boss Wants» tells the story of Kwon Do-hyuk (Sung Hoon), a wealthy executive who has lost his sense of taste and is desperately searching for a woman whose voice he heard on an album. His path eventually crosses that of Lee Eun-chae (Oh Se-young), a young woman leading a double life as the singer of an indie band.

Sung Hoon wants to create a celebrity using AI… before discovering Oh Se-young
The first teaser opens with a particularly difficult situation for Kwon Do-hyuk. His father, Kwon Tae-woong (Park Jung-hak), criticizes him for spending too much time on artificial intelligence instead of saving OYES Entertainment, the struggling family business. Funeral wreaths placed in front of the offices further underscore just how dire the company’s situation appears to be.
But Do-hyuk has his own idea for turning the company around: using his expertise in artificial intelligence to create the perfect star. «I’ll have to create one myself—a celebrity who never causes any scandals.»
Lee Eun-chae, on the other hand, is far from leading such a comfortable life. Working as a call center agent, she has to put up with dissatisfied customers and reprimands from her manager, who advises her to look for another job if she keeps causing problems.
Yet as soon as she leaves work, the young woman’s appearance changes completely. With her red wig, bold makeup, and matching dress, she becomes Soo, the lead singer of the indie band India Red.
A secret identity that Kwon Do-hyuk will gradually uncover. Their first encounter is anything but ordinary: the executive immediately realizes that Lee Eun-chae is posing as a doctor when he catches her wearing a lab coat bearing the name of his friend Seo Jin-woo (Lee Choong-joo).

Later, when he saw Soo’s face on the cover of an India Red album, Do-hyuk was stunned. «Does what I created really exist?»

Intrigued, he decided to go to one of the band's concerts to find the mysterious singer.
A three-month contract that could change everything
After the concert, Kwon Do-hyuk tries to follow Soo, who rushes out of the venue.

But he runs into Lee Eun-chae, who is wearing her usual clothes this time.

The young woman, wary, immediately asks him, «Did you follow Soo here? Are you a stalker?» When Do-hyuk notices a red dress sticking out of Lee Eun-chae’s bag, his suspicions grow. «Lee Eun-chae, who are you really?»
This discovery marked the beginning of a professional relationship that was, to say the least, unusual.
The teaser shows Do-hyuk presenting a contract to Eun-chae and telling her, «The contract is for three months. » While the details of their agreement remain a mystery, it seems to be leading them to spend more and more time together. And despite his rational nature, it doesn’t take long for Do-hyuk to start feeling emotions he can’t quite explain.
In a romantic scene, Eun-chae presses her ear against the door to Do-hyuk’s office to listen to what’s going on inside. But when the door suddenly swings open, she loses her balance and falls right into his arms.
An unexpected connection that deeply unsettles the leader. «Why is my heart beating so fast?»
Between Eun-chae’s lies, Do-hyuk’s career ambitions, and this budding attraction, «What a Boss Wants» seems to be building a romance centered on appearances and feelings that spiral out of control. It remains to be seen what their contract actually entails and how long Eun-chae will be able to keep her double identity a secret.
«What a Boss Wants» will premiere on November 11, 2026, at 10:20 p.m. on MBN (pending an international streaming platform).
