Hands up, guns pointed at them: Episode 3 of « 100 Days of Deception » («100 Days as a Spy» in French) promises to be a turning point. According to the production team, it is in this new episode that Lee Ga-kyeong, the pickpocket played by Kim You-jung, will truly begin her mission as a spy. And her relationship with the mysterious Sato Hideo, played by Park Jin-young, will never be quite the same again.
Warning: This article contains spoilers for the first two episodes.

A Spy Romance Set During the Japanese Occupation
A special production for tvN's 20th anniversary, directed by Yoo In-sik (« Extraordinary Attorney Woo »), the series is set during the Japanese occupation of Korea. Lee Ga-kyeong, a street pickpocket, is recruited by the independence movement to infiltrate the Japanese General Government.
Standing in her way is Kim Tae-woong, an interpreter known as Sato Hideo. As the adopted son of the second-highest-ranking official in the colonial administration, he is at once a target, a threat… and an attraction the young woman hadn’t anticipated.
For Kim Yoo-jung, who has frequently played historical roles since *Love in the Moonlight*, as in Park Jin-young, a member of GOT7 who came to the public’s attention through «Yumi’s Cells 2»; the duo’s dynamic is based on a constant game of cat and mouse.
Found at the pawnshop
The second episode ended on a tense note. After the failed assassination attempt on Sato Shinichi (Jin Sun-kyu), Ga-kyeong had refused the money promised by Yoo So-ran (Kim Hyun-joo) and quit her job.
Hideo had set out to find her, before stumbling upon her by chance at a pawnshop. He pulled her into his arms, telling her that he had finally caught his pickpocket.
Two Opposing Reactions to Weapons
That’s exactly where Episode 3 picks up, with an unexpected interruption. Police officers burst into the store, guns drawn, and hold the two characters at gunpoint. The new footage highlights the contrast between them. Ga-kyeong is paralyzed by fear of being exposed. Hideo, on the other hand, stares down the barrel of a gun with an almost disconcerting calm—a composure that speaks volumes about what this character is hiding.

Once the police leave, the confrontation continues. Ga-kyeong still denies being a thief, while Hideo—far from being convinced—tries to retrieve the pawn ticket he lost.

The production promises a sequel that is both thrilling and romantic, in which lies and suspicions will gradually spiral out of control.
Episode 3 of «100 Days of Deception» will air on Saturday, October 17, 2026, at 9:10 p.m. (Korean time)—which is 2:10 p.m. in France—on tvN, and will then be available worldwide on Netflix.
