Jang Ki-yong (장기용) is a South Korean actor and model born on August 7, 1992, in Ulsan. He began his modeling career in 2012 before gradually transitioning to acting. His early television appearances include It’s Okay, That’s Love, The Greatest Marriage and The Idle Mermaid.
He gained more attention in 2017 thanks to The Boy Next Door, where he co-stars with Choi Woo-shik, and then in Go Back Couple. The following year marked a major turning point with two very different roles: Lee Gwang-il in My Mister and Chae Do-jin in Come and Hug Me. This latest role has allowed him to establish himself as a leading actor.
In 2019, he followed that up with the thriller Kill It and then the romance Search: WWW, in which he plays Park Mo-geon. He continued in 2020 with Born Again, in which he plays a dual role, before enjoying renewed popularity with My roommate is a gumiho in 2021. In it, he plays Shin Woo-yeo, a gumiho who is several centuries old. That same year, he also starred in Now, We're Breaking Up.
After completing his military service, Jang Ki-yong returns in 2024 with The Atypical Family. In it, he plays Bok Gwi-ju, a man from a family with supernatural powers who has lost his abilities due to emotional turmoil. The series allows him to return to more dramatic and introspective roles.
In 2025, he played the lead role of Kong Ji-hyeok in the romantic comedy Kiss Me for No Reason. It is then announced in Law of Lines in 2027, in which he plays Tak Do-il, as well as in Pig Pen, playing the role of Song Jin-hyeok.
On the big screen, Jang Ki-yong has appeared notably in The Bad Guys: Reign of Chaos and Sweet & Sour. Thanks to his career spanning modeling, romance, thrillers, and fantasy, he has established himself as one of the most recognizable actors of his generation.
