Kim Young-kwang (김영광; 金英光) is a South Korean actor and model born on January 11, 1987, in Incheon. Before turning to acting, he had a successful career as a model and, in 2008, became the first Asian model to walk the runway for Dior Homme. He also collaborated with major fashion houses such as Alexander McQueen, Vivienne Westwood, and Etro before making his acting debut on television.
After several supporting roles in White Christmas, Love Rain and Good Doctor, he really made a name for himself thanks to the drama Pinocchio (2014), in which his portrayal of Seo Beom-jo earned him the Best New Actor award at the SBS Drama Awards. He then cemented his status as a leading actor with D-Day, Sweet Stranger and Me, Lookout, The Secret Life of My Secretary and Hello, Me!.
On the big screen, Kim Young-kwang charms audiences in a romance On Your Wedding Day, a massive box-office hit, followed by Mission: Possible and A Year-End Medley. In 2022, he surprised audiences with his portrayal of the mysterious killer Sung Yun-o in the psychological thriller Somebody, revealing a much darker side to his game.
In 2025, he plays the lead roles in thrillers Trigger and Walking on Thin Ice, while making a memorable appearance in the fantasy series The Haunted Palace. In 2026, he returned to romance with Recharge My Heart, in which he plays Baek Ho-rang, and makes a cameo appearance in Delusion. His next confirmed project is Queen of Joryeon, scheduled for release in 2027, in which he will play the lead role of Ji Yong.
Thanks to his natural elegance, charisma, and ability to switch seamlessly between romantic comedies, thrillers, and ambiguous characters, Kim Young-kwang has established himself as one of the most versatile actors of his generation in South Korea.
