Lee Min-ho is a South Korean actor and model born on June 22, 1987, in Seoul. He began auditioning in the early 2000s and gradually landed small roles before securing his first major role in Secret Campus. His career was cut short in 2006 by a serious car accident that required several months of recovery.
He made a major breakthrough in 2009 thanks to Boys Over Flowers, in which he plays Goo Joon-pyo. The series’ tremendous success in South Korea and abroad has made him one of the iconic figures of the Hallyu wave. He cemented this popularity with Personal Taste in 2010, and especially with City Hunter in 2011, which bolstered its reputation in many Asian and European countries.
He continues with the historical drama Faith in 2012 and enjoyed tremendous international success again in 2013 with The Heirs, in which he plays Kim Tan. On the big screen, he landed his first major role in Gangnam 1970 in 2015, and then starred in the Chinese co-production Bounty Hunters in 2016. That same year, he returned to television in The Legend of the Blue Sea.
Lee Min-ho is completing his mandatory military service from May 12, 2017, to April 25, 2019, as a public service officer, as his previous injuries prevent him from serving as an active-duty soldier.
After his return, he plays Emperor Lee Gon in The King: Eternal Monarch in 2020. Starting in 2022, he played Koh Hansu in Pachinko, and then reprises that role in Pachinko Season 2 in 2024. In 2025, he played the lead role of Gong Ryong in When the Stars Gossip and appears in the movie Omniscient Reader: The Prophecy.
