In AwakeningThe story takes place in the heart of an elite high school in Daechi-dong, a district well known for its extreme academic pressure. Oh Ye-joo (most recently seen in Love Your Enemy) plays Gong Ha-ranga recent high school transfer who'll do anything to succeed. But after taking stimulants to boost her grades, she begins to hear voices... those of the dead. Her daily life is transformed into a waking nightmare, with strange visions and secrets buried within the school walls.
In the series, Lee Jun-hyuk plays Antonio, a new referent priest assigned to Seongryeong High School. His arrival arouses both curiosity and mistrust among the students. Behind this official position hides an exorcist commissioned by the Dicastery for the Doctrine of the Faith.
Beneath his cold, reserved exterior, Antonio possesses particularly keen intuition and deep empathy. Accustomed to facing terrifying situations alone, he bears the scars of many ordeals and has dedicated his life to fighting demonic forces.
Sent to Seongryeong High School to investigate an evil presence, he finds himself at the heart of a series of unexplained events. In the course of his investigation, Antonio tries to uncover the identity of the person who has led the students into a deadly race for academic success.
