Kim Soo-hyun seems to be gradually preparing for his return to the screen. A few months after announcing his return to work, the actor reunited with his Filipino fans in Manila and spoke directly to them about what they’re probably most looking forward to: to see him again in a new drama.
This meeting comes at a time when he has reportedly been offered several major projects and his team has narrowed down about 40 scenarios to just a few serious contenders.
Meanwhile, the legal developments surrounding the charges against the actor will enter a new phase in October, with the resumption of Kim Se-ui’s trial.

In Manila, Kim Soo-hyun Speaks Openly About His Return to Dramas
On October 2, Kim Soo-hyun was at the Mall of Asia Arena in Manila for the «Our Forever with You» fan meeting, organized in partnership with the BENCH brand.
It was a reunion with his Filipino (and international) fans, who had prepared a video and a song for him. Visibly moved by their welcome, the actor struggled to hold back his tears when he took the stage.
«I really, really missed you all,» he told them, before taking part in various discussions and games based on several of his dramas, including «Dream High,» «My Love from the Star,» and « Queen of Tears ".

But it is his closing message, above all, that is drawing attention today. Kim Soo-hyun acknowledged that the version of himself his fans probably wanted to see again was the one appearing «in projects or series,» before asking them: «Wait just a little longer, okay?»
He then promised, «I’ll make it up to you with better acting.» This is a particularly interesting statement, given that several proposals are reportedly being considered for his next project.
More than 40 proposals were received, but only 3 or 4 projects have now been selected
According to the latest information published on October 4 by MK Sports, more than 40 movie and TV drama scripts have reportedly been offered to the actor since he resumed his career.
Faced with this particularly large number of proposals, his agency has reportedly now conducted an initial screening and selected 3 or 4 projects considered the most serious options. No specific titles have been revealed yet, and no new cast members have been officially confirmed, but the genres and platforms under consideration already give an idea of the possibilities available to him.
Among the projects reportedly proposed to him are, in particular, a particularly dark thriller intended for Netflix as well as a major production blending fantasy and action. Large-scale projects geared toward the international market.
But Kim Soo-hyun could also choose to make a comeback on Korean television. More traditional melodramas, as well as historical dramas focused on human stories and intended for major Korean networks, are also reportedly among the options currently being considered.
The choice, therefore, remains wide open: to return with a major production intended for global streaming, or to return to a style more akin to television melodramas, in which her emotional performance could take center stage.
And the timeline for this return still involves another major unknown: « Knock-Off ». The Disney+ series, which had already finished filming, remains on hold. According to MK Sports, its budget is reportedly around 60 billion won, amounting to several tens of millions of euros. Disney+ reportedly stated recently that there was «no new information» regarding its programming.
The situation surrounding «Knock-Off» could therefore play a role in the planning of Kim Soo-hyun’s next project, although it is not yet possible to say when—or even in what form—the series will ultimately be released.
Another important milestone in the legal proceedings
Ahead of a possible announcement regarding her next drama, another date has now been added to the schedule.
Visit October 15, the Seoul Central District Court is scheduled to hold the second pretrial hearing in the criminal trial of Kim Se-ui, a representative of the YouTube channel Garo Sero Institute, who is being prosecuted on charges including defamation in the case involving Kim Soo-hyun.
Kim Se-ui denies the charges against him. His request to be granted a trial with Furthermore, the court did not accept the participation of a jury of laypeople. Without going into the many details of this proceedings are still ongoing, so this hearing will mark a new stage in the legal proceedings, just 10 days after the fan meeting in Manila.
