Park Sung-hoon (박성훈), born on February 18, 1985, in Gwacheon, is a South Korean actor who has gradually established himself as one of the most memorable faces in dark and ambiguous roles in K-dramas. After a low-key debut in film and then on television, he went on to play several supporting roles in Six Flying Dragons, Jealousy Incarnate, Distorted and Black Knight: The Man Who Protects Me.
His career began to take off in 2018 with My Only One, before making a name for himself playing more unsettling characters. In 2019, he notably played Seo In-woo in Psychopath Diary, a role that confirms his ease in dark genres. He then reveals a more romantic side in Into the Ring in 2020.
The real turning point comes with The Glory in 2022–2023. In it, he plays Jeon Jae-joon, one of Moon Dong-eun’s former tormentors, and becomes one of the drama’s most memorable antagonists. He goes on to Not Others and The Day of the Kidnapping in 2023.
In 2024, its popularity saw a renewed surge thanks to Queen of Tears, in which he plays Yoon Eun-seong, a manipulative businessman and rival of Kim Soo-hyun's character. That same year, he joined Squid Game 2 as Cho Hyun-ju, a transgender woman and former soldier competing in the games. He reprises this role in Squid Game 3 in 2025.
Park Sung-hoon then went on to take on a wider variety of projects. In 2026, he played one of the leading roles in The Practical Guide to Love alongside Han Ji-min. He is also set to appear in the movie Tropical Night and The Assassin(s), confirming a career that now alternates between mainstream productions, thrillers, and character roles.
