Yang Kyung-won (Yang Kyung-won), born on April 1, 1981, in Seoul, is a South Korean actor. After earning a degree in architecture from Kookmin University, he initially worked at an architecture firm before changing careers to pursue a career in the performing arts. He made his debut in 2010 in the musical 42nd Street, and then spent several years building his career in theater and musicals.
After a few television appearances, notably in Six Flying Dragons (2015–2016) and Fight for My Way (2017), he landed a supporting role in Arthdal Chronicles in 2019. That same year, his career took a major turn with Crash Landing on You, in which he plays the North Korean sergeant Pyo Chi-su. His comedic and endearing performance earned him widespread popularity and a nomination for Best Supporting Actor at the Baeksang Arts Awards.
He continues by saying Hi Bye, Mama! (2020), and then regained significant visibility in Vincenzo (2021), in which he plays Lee Cheol-wook. He then appears in One Ordinary Day (2021), Big Mouth and Recipe for Farewell (2022), and then played Jeon Dae-young in Welcome to Samdal-ri (2023). In 2024, he joined Captivating the King and appears in The Judge from Hell.
In 2025, he starred in, among others, Love, Take Two, My Youth and Ms. Incognito Incognito. In 2026, he appeared in the movie Number One and is also returning to the stage with the play Secret Passage.
In his personal life, Yang Kyung-won has been married to Cheon Eun-seong, a musical theater actress and Pilates instructor, since 2018.
