Behind the cooking contest lies a story of revenge. In the new teaser for « Final Table » («The Final Table» in French), Ahn Hyo-seop and Hong Hwa-yeon They’re not just entering a competition to save their restaurant—they’re waging a crusade against those they hold responsible for a tragedy. With four days to go before the premiere, the series reveals a much darker side than expected.
A competition to determine the best Korean chef
«Final Table» brings together Korean chefs from around the world for a cutthroat competition, «The Table: K-Chef 2026,» which is set to crown the best Korean chef.
Kang Han, a high-flying chef played by Ahn Hyo-seop—who rose to fame through «Business Proposal»—decides to join the show alongside Choi Song-yi, played by Hong Hwa-yeon. She is the owner of Famiglia, a restaurant on the verge of closing since the death of its founder—her own father. For Kang Han, This place is also full of memories of his father.
«Pyongyang killed my father»
The teaser reveals Choi Song-yi's true motives. Facing Seon Jung-won—the executive producer of Pyungyeon Media, the company organizing the contest, played by Jung Eugene—she tells her that she knows why such a competition was organized.
Then comes the sentence that changes everything: when she asks Kang Han for help, she claims that Pyungyeon is responsible for her father’s death. The competition then becomes much more than a way to save her restaurant—it’s a way to settle the score.
But the counterattack isn't long in coming. An unexpected incident throws the Famiglia kitchen into chaos, as if to remind them that their opponent isn't going to take this lying down.
Kang Han vs. Cha Woo-jin
The teaser also sets the stage for a personal showdown. In it, Chang Ryul plays Cha Woo-jin, the chef and owner of the country's best restaurant.
Kang Han looks at him with restrained anger, recalling two scenes: Cha Woo-jin putting pressure on someone, and his strangely calm expression when they crossed paths at a funeral. A funeral that we suspect might be connected to the death of Song-yi’s father.
Far from being intimidated, Kang Han openly taunts his rival, assuring him that he’ll lose to him again this time. That «again» suggests that the two men share a history… and that history may well repeat itself.
«Final Table» will air starting Saturday, October 24, 2026, at 10:40 p.m. (Korean time), which is 3:40 p.m. in France, and will then be available on Prime Video. The series is already listed among the platform’s upcoming shows, translated into various languages, such as «La mesa final» in Spanish and «L’ultimo Piatto» in Italian…
